Collaborating on THX: Lightweight Carbon Fiber Planetary Gear for NTHU Racing

This year, the NTHU Racing Team will represent Taiwan in three Formula Student competitions across Europe in August, competing in Hungary, Czech Republic, and Germany, and taking on the challenge of the Driverless Category. On June 13, 2025, the team held its new car launch event, unveiling the 10th generation electric race car – THX. Sponsors and media representatives were invited to witness this milestone.

The highlight of the THX lies in its custom-designed and hand-crafted carbon fiber monocoque chassis, which achieves a remarkable 40 kg weight reduction compared to the previous generation.

During the preparation for the competition, MODEL.MARK collaborated with the team to develop a planetary gear system for the race car. By sponsoring the team, we aim to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, promote technical exchange, and showcase the potential of Taiwan’s engineering education. Together, we strive to advance the future of motorsports in Taiwan.
